In this clip we are going to talk about hydration.
Hydration during is soccer is a very key element to playing the game. You want to keep hydrated
all the time when you are on the field. To start you should probably drink water before
the game, think about putting down a couple of glasses maybe an hour before you go. And
then definitely during the game you want to have something there on the bench so when
you come off the field you’ll get a quick little gulp and be sure during half time you
get some water and then even after the game definitely drink even more water even though
you might not be as thirsty then your body will definitely be depleted of a lot of water.
And there are some things that you should probably stay away from. Before a game you
probably don’t want to drink a 2 liter of pop or anything like that because the sugar
and everything just kind of slows you down. It might be a quick rush of energy but throughout
the game it will slow you down and you’ll not feel as comfortable. Your stomach is going
to be bloated so try and stay away from pop. It’s not healthy for you. Along with pop,
sometimes the big craze is all these energy drinks. There are some energy drinks that
are good for you that replenish your fluids, there also some energy drinks that again kind
of fit the same mold as pop. A whole lot of sugar, but not a whole lot of good for you.
So try and make sure you guys pay attention to what you are drinking, make sure it’s energizing
you to the point that it revitalizes the energy that you use but you don’t want to have a
big downer afterwards. So try and stay away from carbonated beverages for the most part.
