Hey everyone! Welcome to our video tutorial.
In this tutorial we’re going to teach you how to play Pontoon, an exotic
variant of Blackjack offered at a handful of online casinos. Let’s play a little to show you some
of the differences between the two games. As you can see, we received two cards
face up. The dealer however received two cards face down. Since our hand value is “19”,
we’re going to stand. And we’ve won. But let’s
play another round. Our initial hand is a Pontoon.
Essentially this is the same as “Blackjack” in regular Blackjack, only
that it’s called “Pontoon” and pays 2 to 1 instead of 3 to 2. Let’s
play one final round. 11 means we’re going to hit. 21 and we won. So this is how you play Pontoon. Besides these, there are some more
differences between Pontoon and Blackjack, such as that in Pontoon you must hit if
you have 14 or less, while in Blackjack you can stand on any two cards.
Also, in Pontoon a tie is a loss, while in Blackjack a tie is a push and
you do not lose your bet. In our opinion, Pontoon is a little bit
more complicated and offers considerably lower winning chances than
normal Blackjack. So in case the casino offers both
Pontoon and Blackjack, you should always choose Blackjack. Check out our additional videos or
