In this segment we are going to show you how
to properly read a route. Rock climbing is just as much a mental game as it is physical.
Before you leave the ground you need to figure out, when you are looking at a route, where
you’re going to place your hands, how your body will be positioned during the climb.
These are all things that are going to help you while you are actually on the wall. It
will make it much easier, you’ll progress faster when you do that. So as Caitlin starts
she’s already figured out, or she has an idea, where she will be placing her feet, where
she’ll be placing her hands, how she’ll be twisting her body into the wall. That way
when she’s on the wall she’ll be climbing smoothly and more efficiently than just jumping
